For DJs

1. Get your DJ account#

Ask in #tilderadio about doing a show. An administrator will create your DJ streaming account and enable website access.

Keep your DJ password private.

2. Open the DJ booth#

Sign in to the DJ booth to edit your profile, book airtime, prepare a playlist and manage broadcasts. The page guide explains which control to use.

3. Connect your broadcaster#

Use these settings for the main station with your own DJ username and password. Ask an administrator for connection details if you use another station.

4. Test before your airtime#

Use port 8015 for the test station. Ask an administrator to confirm your test account access. Check the sound, levels and metadata using headphones or another device.

5. Run your show#

  1. Book a slot in your assigned station schedule. Saving a playlist does not book airtime.
  2. Prepare a title and song list if you want one. Link your IRC account to use the DJ bot commands.
  3. Connect your broadcaster at your slot. Check that the station and Live / IRC show you as the live DJ.
  4. For a prepared playlist, use Start next song or !track next as each song starts. Otherwise Carrier records the stream metadata.
  5. Song announcements start off. Enable them for this show if you want them.
  6. Disconnect when finished, then check your listing in Sets / broadcasts.

Linux audio routing#

Select the right microphone or application output in your broadcaster and check it on the test station.
